Guangzhou is the capital of the Guangdong Province of China and an external trade center and comprehensive transportation hub for China. It is also the hub city of “The Belt and Road Initiative”, and is known as China’s “Southern Gate” to the world. With a history of more than 2,200 years, Guangzhou is the birthplace of Lingnan culture and was listed as one of the first national historical and cultural cities in China in 1982.

The People’s Government of Guangzhou City, referred to as the Guangzhou Municipal Government and the Guangzhou Government, is the local state administrative organ of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, People’s Republic of China. Except for the first mayor and vice mayor who are directly appointed by the Central People’s Government, all other terms are elected by the People’s Congress.In order to retain talents, Guangzhou has incorporated highly skilled talents into the talent introduction system, and non-resident persons with senior or higher vocational qualifications and meeting the relevant conditions can apply to move their household registration to Guangzhou, or apply for a talent green card and enjoy the points-based household registration policy in accordance with the regulations.
